Revolutionizing The Snare Drum.

"For over three years now I've been a part of what Rich and Artie have been doing; I've tried out multiple snares from them over the years and have never been disappointed. They have a strong passion for the music community, both locally and nationally, and MagneTone is living proof of when hard work and dedication come to fruition. The concepts they've applied to these drums are going to turn the drum community on it's head!" - Chris Tyrrell (Lady Antebellum)
"Thanks for getting me that magnetone drum for the CMA's. The combo of acryllic top and mahogany bottom had great pop and cut and was so sensitive. The mahogany shell added some nice bottom and warmth; what a great combination. Aside from the sound characteristics of combining the two different shells, the ability to change the top half of the drum out in seconds if I broke a head mid show was amazing! - Keith Zebroski (Miranda Lambert)
"The MagneTone drums SOUND incredible! Every combination has its own unique vibe, which I think is really important. On top of that, the same engineer has recorded them a few times now and keeps freaking out about them and requesting them! The throw off is awesome, lugs tune easily, and they don't detune either, so they hold pitch really well. - Ben Jackson (Greg Bates)
"MagneTone snare drums have a sound that only fine instruments can produce. The build quality is excellent and the innovative magnetic design is like nothing I've seen before. The ability to almost instantly change a shell allows me to quickly modify my snare sound in the studio or in a live setting to best suit the needs of a particular song." - Sean Paddock (Kenny Chesney)
"These drums sound great under the mics, making dialing them in fast and easy. Each time the top was changed it brought a new character & vibe to the drum and every one of them recorded beautifully with very little processing." Jeff Braun, Recording Engineer (Jeff Braun Productions)
Magnetic Technology concert vs player series
MagneTone Drums

MagneTone wood drum shells* are available in two configurations; the Concert Series and Player Series. Both series feature our exclusive Magnetic Interlocking System™ as well as 2.3mm triple flanged hoops, 10-lug configuration,** hand-rubbed finishes, hand-finished bearing edges, and Evans drum heads.

Concert Series shells feature a lathe-turned segmented construction for maximum resonance. Segmented construction uses less glue than ply shells, allowing the drum shell to vibrate more freely. Segmented shells are exceedingly strong and do not require reinforcement rings to stay “in-round.” Concert Series bottom shells utilize the industry-leading Trick GS007 Throwoff. The GS007 is precision-machined using Aluminum and Stainless Steel parts. All moving parts move on rolling bearings for smooth, consistent operation. Additionally, Concert Series bottom shells feature 20-strand German coiled steel snare wires with phosphor bronze end clips. The shape of the end clips creates more contact between the drumhead and the coiled wires giving the snare drum a fuller, more responsive snare sound. Concert Series wood types currently include Maple, Birch, African Mahogany, Bubinga, Purple Heart, and Zebra Wood.

Player Series shells feature 10-ply construction with a birch core. MagneTone ply shells are an economical alternative to our segmented design, and are custom manufactured to our exacting standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Player Series bottom shells utilize a chrome side-throw snare strainer and 20-strand steel snare wires. Player Series ply shells are available with maple, mahogany, and birch outer plies. We use a birch core for all of our Player Series shells to take advantage of the “naturally equalized” tonal qualities of birch. Other exotic outer plies are available by special order.

*MagneTone metal and Acrylic shells are standalone top shells, not associated with a particular series.

** Applies to 14” standard diameter shells. Smaller diameter shells may use fewer lugs.
